You can access IA2 services through the RAP (Remote Authentication Portal) application. RAP allows you to login using eduGAIN credentials, X.509 certificates and most popular social networks.
We recommend to authenticate using one of these modes but, if you don't have any of the listed account types, it is possible to perform a self-registration.
List of IA2 services using Single Sing On:
If you login into the RAP Account Manager you can manage your account and you can join your account with other accounts (account linking). When two accounts have been joined it is possible to login indistinctly using one account or the other and the services will treat the access in the same way (so, logging in with both the accounts you will have the same resource access authorization). A typical use-case of this is to join your eduGAIN account with a social account. If you have social account cookies on your browser login happens in a few steps, without inserting any password.
When you are logged in, to join two accounts you have to click on the "Join with another identity" button.
This button opens a modal from which you can search for other accounts that have been registered on the system. Selecting the desired account and clicking on the "Send join request" button an e-mail will be sent to the address related to the selected account. This e-mail contains a link which can be used to confirm the join operation.
You need to logout and repeat the login for seeing the result of a join operation.
When you have performed an account linking you can click on the star-shaped icon for selecting you primary identity. Mail address associated to primary identity is the one that our systems use for sending e-mail messages.
IA2 uses the Grouper platform for managing user authorization.
If you login into Grouper you can see the groups of which you are member.
Regarding astronomical portals groups are named like the observative programs. PI are able to add members to their groups.
For more information see the Grouper help page.
